Greg Harris was born in Greensboro NC. Spent childhood in Silk hope NC. Attended Jordan Matthews High School. Went to Elon University graduating with a BA in business finance. Drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 10th round of the 1985 MLB amateur draft. Played 13 professional seasons, 8 of which were in the Major Leagues. Finishing 4th in rookie of year voting 1989. Is 2nd All-Time in Padres ERA behind Trevor Hoffman. Retired from playing in 1997 after 2 rotator cuff surgeries. Have been involved in coaching youth sports over the last 9 years both in Baseball and basketball.
